A note from our new PTA President, Chris Post

     On behalf of the PTA, let me welcome you to Yates Mill.  My name is Chris Post and I will be serving you as the PTA President for the upcoming 2007-2008 school year.  I look forward to getting to know you and your family, and working together to enrich your child’s education.

     Wonderful things happen at Yates Mill Elementary School each and every day because of the outstanding teachers, administrators, and staff that are so dedicated to the education of our children. One of the main goals of the PTA is to encourage and provide as much communication as possible between home and school.  Many of the opportunities our children have to learn and develop are made possible through the programs sponsored and funded by the PTA. This is a very exciting time in your child’s life, filled with new friends, new experiences and new challenges.  Staying involved and informed is the best way to help your child have a successful year.

     We also invite you to volunteer for the PTA. Our volunteer fair will be held in conjunction with Open House in September.  Lend a hand by giving just a few hours of your time to help plan and run any of our activities and fund-raisers. We have tasks for everyone — moms, dads, kids, teachers, relatives and friends — at various levels of participation. The strength of our PTA lies in the number of volunteers. If your schedule allows for more time, join a committee or work in the classroom. Giving of your time, talent and ability not only helps the school; it also enriches our children’s education.

     The PTA holds open meetings every month.   Look for the dates and times of the upcoming events and meetings in the PTA Newsletter your child will bring home bi-weekly.  The PTA website, www.yatesmillpta.org , is another valuable resource for information.  Also, if you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to call me at 345-3296, email me at chrispost9@yahoo.com , or drop a note in the office at the school.  Your opinion matters!  We look forward to hearing from you!
